Going on 37 years, the ColoradoBiz Top Company Awards are older than some of the founders whose businesses are now vying for the award.
It’s a distinction that hasn’t gotten any easier to win since the Top Company program was introduced in 1987 – nor any easier to judge.
In the end, 45 companies hailing from 18 Colorado cities were honored as either winners or finalists in 14 industries, plus the Startup category for companies five years old or less.
All the companies that put themselves out there and entered the competitive arena deserve credit for helping to keep Top Company the coveted honor it’s been for decades.
Leiters Health is an FDA-registered 503B outsourcing provider of compounded medications and pharmacy services. The organization supplies ready-to-use medications to hospitals, surgery centers, physician offices and clinics. Leiters Health helps its health-care customers gain more control over their medication supply by serving as an extension of their pharmacy, helping them to standardize their portfolio, prevent shortages and determine when to outsource or compound in-house.
In 2020, early in the Covid-19 pandemic, health-care providers experienced a nationwide shortage of critically needed medicines such as those needed to induce or maintain sedation, neuromuscular blocking agents used for rapid intubation, and analgesia to maintain comfort for patients under mechanical ventilation. Leiters shifted manufacturing priorities and production capabilities to manufacture these critically needed medicines. In 2021, when general surgical procedures returned to normal levels, the company balanced its production schedule by continuing to produce these medications and also resumed manufacturing a standard portfolio of hospital surgical and ophthalmology medications.
Leiters Health leverages its pharmaceutical expertise, automated sterile facilities, extensive testing and innovative packaging to deliver a consistent supply of high-quality compounded sterile preparations. Every pharmaceutical produced at Leiters undergoes rigorous quality assurance processes and comprehensive testing prior to release. Its vision is to be the essential partner in providing the highest quality, critically needed medicines that health-care providers need to treat and care for patients, and that ultimately enhance the quality of patients’ lives.
